BCA extends our condolences to Shari Clark and family on the passing of Shari’s dad, Nipomo resident Bill Faulds, a remarkable man who had an impressive business career, and with his wife, Ethel, raised four children. He traveled the world, devoured books and celebrated family, enjoying every minute until a brief illness claimed him earlier this week.

The hospital is the only one in SLO County to receive three-year accreditation in ultrasound, breast ultrasound and computed tomography from the American College of Radiology … Thoma Electric and RRM Design have been tapped for construction of the Creston Fire Station … We’ve been watching the restoration of the gorgeous historic building at the corner of Pismo and Broad streets in SLO. The former site of Karen Hale’s Healing Center is now home to a trio of CPAs – Polly Sackrider, Ann Palmer and Debbie Wacker … Boisterous TV pitchman Billy Mays may be gone, but QuickChop, SteamBuddy and many of his other products continue on at the new AsSeenOnTV store at Prime Outlets in Pismo … Spot a FunRide car yet? We did. A light green, natural gas-powered Honda Civic parked at the Shell station across from the County Government Center. cf0003771Cal Poly wines captured medals at the San Francisco International Wine Competition for all four student-produced 2007 vintages entered this year. Judges awarded a double-gold medal to Mustang Red (a blend of Paso Robles zinfandel and Edna Valley syrah grapes), a gold medal for Cal Poly Syrah and silver medals for its chardonnay and pinot noir. Christian Roguenant, winemaker for Baileyana and Tangent wineries, directed student winemaking efforts. The wines are sold at Cal Poly’s downtown SLO bookstore, Taste at the corner of Osos and Monterey streets, or online … Congratulations to Cindy McKellar of Your People Professionals,who was recently installed as chair of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors … Jim Moresco has passed the real estate broker’s exam and was promoted to Sales and Marketing VP at Midland Pacific Homes. Jim, the son of Midland Pacific owner Dennis Moresco, is currently focused on development of The Cove at River Oaks, a new neighborhood of 51 homes under construction in Paso Robles … Ready for a little romance?
