Cast your vote. This hot tip comes from proud Grandpa Jim Witt of Idler’s. Show biz must run in the family – Jim and his band, Unfinished Business, are the cover story in this month’s SLO Journal PlusCuesta College hosts the ConocoPhillips Women’s Basketball Tournament starting tonight and ending Saturday. Great hoops action and a chance for fans to free throw for free gas. Go Cougars … It’s 50th birthday time at Sierra Vista this Sunday and the party is on for anyone born there. Come on by and enjoy festivities from 1-3 p.m. in the hospital’s auditorium … Car Free SLO is a new program that promotes visiting our county and covering it all – without a car. The piece, created by artist Cain Lopez, a Shandon High graduate, pays tribute to Studios on the Park’s building at 1130 Pine Street, home to a Hudson/Packard dealership in the 40’s and 50’s and then an auto parts store for over 40 years … Cal Poly is fresh with holiday gifts. Check out poinsettias (traditional colors, marbled, painted and…yep, glittered). Student-made cheeses are available for order through Dec. 12. . And Cal Poly Eggnog is back by popular demand after a 20-year hiatus. Listen to grocer John Spencer talk nog on KVEC and you’ll be heading to Spencer’s or the Poly Creamery to nab a gallon … To top it off, Cal Poly heralds the holidays with an electronic greeting showcasing the talents of alums Lauren Barker, Chris Leschinsky, Dennis Steers and Inga Swearingen … Another fun approach to the holidays is the free screensaver being shared by local photographer Dennis Swanson.
