Arroyo Grande found the perfect words and an iconic visual to brag about its small town character. “Vintage California” says it all and we at Barnett Cox are proud to be the marketing team that worked with AG Chamber CEO Judith Bean and a committee of community supporters to make it happen.

BCA SOCIAL

The power of social media is in sharing it, and so with this edition of FYI we introduce a new feature in which we do just that. We’re passing on a bit of useful news from the wonderful world of social media. We’ll start easy with a simple list of Twitter do’s and don’ts. When you’re ready to hear more, pop an e-mail to our own in-house guru, Scott Morrell, at smorrell@barnettcox.com. And if that’s just too old school for you, find the guy on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.

John & Sandy Dunn

The talents of John Dunn, retired SLO City CAO and this year’s SLO Chamber Citizen of the Year, are in demand in many communities these days. John has agreed to tackle one – the financially-strapped-needs-a-great-leader City of Rohnert Park (adjacent to Santa Rosa) as Interim CAO starting Monday. Wife Sandy will join him for a few weeks every month during the six-month assignment … We had occasion recently to talk with Lon Allan, Atascadero’s resident historian and one of the county’s best known newspaper writers, about his book, Atascadero: The Vision of One – The Work of Many. The book covers the ins and outs of Atascadero from 1776 to its incorporation as a city in the summer of 1979. E.G. Lewis is one interesting fellow and Lon does have a way with words … Audio production go-to guy John Quimby of the Production Room in Santa Barbara is proving he can go-to work anywhere. He’s moving his company and his family full-time to Dunn Creek, the family’s organic farm in Prince Edward Island, Canada. The Quimby’s have spent the last nine summers on the island and are now making it their home. Sound waves and waves of grain to follow.
