SEEN & HEARD

September 9th, 2010

We love to play in the fun zone, and that’s exactly where we are working with Cal Poly on its significant construction project, the new Center for Science. Dubbed “Area 52” to capture a sci-fi pun (it’s Building 52) and wrap it in marketing wizardry, the campaign targets campus goers, outlining the many ways to peacefully co-exist with university operations. You’ll see how it all comes together at area52.calpoly.edu (launch date: 9/13/10) … Among other clever moves made by the very clever Steve Martin of Atascadero Main Street is the creation of an internet radio station, “the New Oldies,” streaming the classics at www.thenewoldies.com … People in the news: Andrea Wasko is back at Mission Community Services Corporation. With a background that includes medical device marketing, research & development and manufacturing, along with a foray into gourmet foods manufacturing, Andrea “walks the talk” for new and expanding businesses needing advice.  595-1357 or e-mail info@mcscorp.org … The ever-fab Barbara George has agreed to help out Cuesta interim Prez Gil Stork and steer the Cuesta Foundation during a search for a permanent fundraiser. June Stevens, former Cuesta Foundation director, has relocated to Citrus College in Azusa … SLO architect Craig Smith has just finished helping the SLO Church of the Nazarene remodel the church’s sanctuary, a labor of love which he supported with a generous donation of time.
